Frequently Asked Questions
What is therapy, and how can it help me?
Therapy is a collaborative process where you work with a trained mental health professional to explore your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. It can help you understand yourself better, manage stress, improve relationships, and develop healthy coping strategies.
How do I know if I need therapy?
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, or struggling with your emotions, relationships, or daily functioning, therapy can be helpful. You don’t need to wait for a crisis—therapy is for anyone seeking growth, healing, or support
What happens in the first session?
The first session is usually an intake or assessment where the therapist gets to know you, understands your concerns, and discusses your goals. It’s also a space for you to ask questions and see if you feel comfortable with the therapist.
How long does therapy take?
The length of therapy varies from person to person. Some may benefit from short-term support over a few sessions, while others may engage in long-term therapy for deeper issues. The duration is decided collaboratively between you and your therapist.
What types of concerns can I bring to therapy?
You can talk about anything—stress, anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, relationship issues, identity concerns, or simply the need to be heard. No concern is too small or too big for therapy.
Do you offer therapy for children, adolescents, and families?
Yes, Ms Aaushi is trained to work with individuals across all age groups, including children, teens, adults, and families. We tailor our approach based on developmental and individual needs.
What is the fee structure? Do you offer sliding scale options?
Our fee structure varies by session type. We do offer limited sliding scale slots to make therapy accessible. Please contact us for details.
How do I book a session?
You can reach out to us via our website, email, or phone to book a session. Our team will guide you through the next steps.
Where do you practice?
ListenWorks is based in Mumbai and offers both in-person and online therapy services. The mode of therapy is based on your preference and the availability of the psychologist you choose to work with. We strive to provide a setting—virtual or face-to-face—that feels most comfortable and accessible to you. If you’re interested in in-person sessions, feel free to book a brief call to learn more.
When and how do I make the payment for my session?
For online therapy sessions, payments must be made at least 48 hours in advance. We accept payments via UPI, NetBanking, NEFT, and Cash (for in-person sessions). Details will be shared once your session is scheduled.
How do I know if the psychologist is the right fit for me?
Finding the right therapist is a key part of your mental health journey. Think of it as exploring options—it’s completely okay to take time to find someone you feel comfortable with. We recommend scheduling an introductory call where you can learn about the therapist’s qualifications, experience, and therapeutic approach. Come prepared with any questions or preferences you may have. After this call—or even after your first session—you can reflect on how you felt, and decide whether you’d like to continue or explore another therapist. Your comfort and connection matter most.
How do you maintain the privacy and confidentiality of sessions?
At ListenWorks, your privacy and confidentiality are of utmost importance. We deeply value the trust you place in us. We follow a confidentiality policy, while we may discuss aspects of therapy with supervisors to ensure quality care, no identifying information is ever disclosed.
